Hedge Fund vs BB

Hello all,

I am in a dilemma at this situation. I have an offer for an accounting position at a prestigious hedge fund, and a risk control position at a BB. This is for an internship. I am currently a Junior at a non target.

How is the accounting division at a Hedge Fund valued as in terms of career opportunities and learning curve compared to Risk Control at a BB.

Thanks

UG Prestige, I-banking, and Medicine

Hey guys,

Quick question. I, like most HS seniors, have not determined which career field I want to pursue after college. However, I do have a serious interest in both medicine and investment banking. Yet, because I do no have a single definitive "occupation goal," it sort of complicates my college search. I think I stand a fairly high chance at getting into a couple of ivies (not trying to brag or be arrogant here..but please just assume that I could get into say a dartmouth). Is it worth it to incur potentially large sums of debt when I don't know for sure what I want to do? More so, how long would I have in college before I would need to make a call on which career I want to pursue?

THANKS,
Robbie

Computer Science and ibanking

I entered college as an undergrad pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. Ever since I started, I had my mind set on pursuing a career in business after college with an ideal career being an investment banker. I am preparing to transfer to another prestigious university (GTown) for personal reasons where, there is no engineering. I am in a situation where a computer science major gives me the most credits and best opportunity to graduate in due time (and I do have some interest in the subject).

I am a junior, and haven't had any major internships even though I plan to add that to my resume this summer. Still, it seems I am way behind the curve. As a comp. science major, do I still have a prospective career in i-banking?? and if so, what must I do starting now to turn things around?? (ways to get internships? right people to talk to?...etc)

Thanks
