Hi I'm going to apply to Cornell for the Fall 2010 semester (soph status)... as a reach-and-a-half school.
I want to apply to CALS as an Applied Eco and Management major-- Internat'l Trade and Development (NOT NOT NOT a guaranteed transfer program).

I originally started school as an International Sudies major at a SUNY cc (I'm a NYS resident*) and so I started taking courses relevant to that path. I did not know that there was required coursework in transferring to Cornell, so I'm a bit scared about the whole thing. I will take Summer courses if need be.

My courses for the 2009-10 school year are as follows:
Geography- Fall
French- Fall
Chinese- Fall
Public Speaking- Fall
Statistics- Fall
Fundamentals of Internat'l Business- Spring
English Comp- Spring
Modern American History- Spring
French- Spring
Chinese- Spring

So far I anticipate As, B+s, Bs...and one C-like grade that I'm trying to pull up (Geograhy-- I KNOW)

As far as ECs go, I'm an officer in the Chinese Club (I'm white. lol.) and on the school paper.
What can I do to demonstrate the fact that I would like to work in a business environment? What activities could I put on my application to show them that I'm very much interested in my major? How could I stand out?

I don't believe I have any "hooks" per se...er.. I graduated hs in 3 years.. is that something?

Please help! And do tell me if there is anything else I need to post about myself.
Thanks

We waited too long to book our daughter's flight home from Thanksgiving and the closest airport we could get her into was Binghamton. We are now trying to figure out economical transport from Binghamton to Cornell. Any ideas? We see there is a bus, but we are nervous as the flights seem to get delayed often and if she missed the bus, she would be stranded. Is there a way to find other students in the same situation so they could share a car service? Ideas appreciated!
