Need help about the Cal Grant

For the entitlement award that I have to fill in, I did not complete the GED. As a result, I called to the Cal Grant office and told them that I am gonna take the GED in this July in order to meet the requirement. Because the email that i received that it said I have to complete my entitlement award in 30 days after i received the email, or I am gonna be disqualified. They said that was fine, and I was gonna ask more question but the connection was cut because many people called at the same time, so I tried to call back many times but always unavailable.

So could someone tell me what should I do now? Should I just answer that I completed my high school, GED already, and take the GED test this July to clear the status. Or should I wait until I receive the certificate GED this July and ask them again about the Cal Grant?

I really don't want to miss the Cal Grant because UCSD tuition is too high for me, and I can not afford it.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Not qualifying for the Cal Grant won't kill you. If you/you parents' income is <$80k/year, you will still qualify for the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan at UCSD, which also covers your tuition/fees. Either way your tuition will be covered, Cal Grant or not.
