adrian66...Generally, OOS scholarship offers are only for US students who don't reside in the same state as the university. It's possible that some of these scholarships may apply to international students, but you'd have to visit each school's website to check. There aren't a lot of US universities that offer substantial awards to international students.

Adrian and Themystique

U Alabama's offers are given to int'l students as well.

However, the int'l student MUST be accepted before Dec 1....ACCEPTED.

So, you'd have to apply NOW...the app is up...and you have to ALSO submit the scholarship app.

Since it takes LONGER to process Int'l applications, it is important to apply ASAP!

Last year, an int'l applied late-ish (maybe October??), and his app almost wasn't processed in time....he was very concerned. So, it's just best to get the app in NOW, so there's a couple of months to process the int'l app. And, quickly get your translated transcripts, etc, ready to get sent in!

IT would be of great help if anyone of you could list the US universities that provide full or half tuition financial aids for INTENTIONAL STUDENTS with their requirements if possible.

IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!! AND THANK YOU FOR THE REPLIES

No one owes it to you.

You could, however, post some of your findings in this thread:

m2ck - D won't have results from the September ACT until late Sept. She won't know until then if it is even worth it to apply to UA. Is there any reason she should apply earlier than that anyways?

Sylvan...since your D isn't an int'l, she doesn't need to apply now.

My post was really for the int'l students. their app process takes longer AND they have the added req't that they have to be ACCEPTED by Dec 1st in order to qualify. Domestic students have the req't to apply by Dec 1st.

For your D, you might want to sign her up for the Oct ACT as well. Bama takes prior ACT tests or the senior year Sept and Oct ACT for scholarships. It takes prior SAT tests and the senior year Oct and Nov SAT tests for scholarships. For the SAT, only the Math + CR are used...which for some students is easier for them to get higher scores. But, some others do better on the ACT...so do both. Bama does not super-score.

Adrian...I believe that Alabama is the highest ranked school that provides assured scholarships (including full tuition and 2/3 tuition scholarships) for int'ls. I don't think there are any other schools ranked similarly or higher that does this.

Middle Tennessee State University - Murfreesboro, TN

This is not a Full Scholarship alone, but when combined with the $4,000 TN Lottery Scholarship, it will cover most if not all tuition. A Chancellor Award + TN Lottery should yield full tuition with an additional $2,000+ for other expenses. Sorry OOS students.

Enjoying the thread. Got a student possibly going to SEMO in a few years as a result.

Could anyone tell me if the GPA requirements stated are weighted or unweighted?

^^

Depends on the school. I know that Bama accepts weighted if it's on the transcript.

Also, many schools do not use superscored SAT/ACT for scholarship consideration. And, many do not use the Writing score of the SAT.
