Fafsa mistakes and high anxiety

I originally put this int the "College Admissions" forum.. which obviously was the wrong place to put it.

I have some major issues on some past FAFSA reports and would like to discuss those with someone.

I have read searched and read through many threads but would still like to discuss my particular case in private with someone.

I understand "kelsmom" works in financial aid... and I know there are some others.

Because I am knew to this I am unable to pm anyone.

I was hoping that someone would be able to pm me and discuss this in private.

Thanks.

As no one knows who you are why not just post the question?

Yes, I work in financial aid ... and I am excellent at correcting FAFSA mistakes. PM me. I will try to answer at lunch tomorrow if you post by then; otherwise, it may be another day before I get to it. I will answer, though.

kelsmom, the OP is unable to PM because he/she is a new poster without sufficient posting history. I think they were asking for someone to PM them and maybe continue the discussion via e-mail.

Unfortunately, because I don't have 15 messages total in the forums I can't pm anyone.

I would much rather do this PRIVATELY. I have a very specific and logical reason for this.

And do appreciate those willing to help and I hope you have patience with me in this matter.

For those who followed this thread, contankerous had some concerns due to a particular situation. I believe I put those concerns to rest.

I want everyone to know is that financial aid rules and regulations are important, and schools are charged with working to make sure they are followed. The government has a legitimate concern to make sure that taxpayer funds are used properly. That said, though, my experience is that the majority of people do their best to present information accurately on the FAFSA. When they make mistakes, it is generally out of ignorance and not out of a desire to cheat the system. The focus on verification is to find and fix mistakes, not to punish people ... although sometimes the resulting loss in aid does seem like a punishment.
