There is a list of schools that are need blind and meet 100% of need for international applicants as well as US citizens. They happen to be the most selective schools, however. Then there are schools that are need aware for internationals but they do meet most need for those that they do accept. Then there are schools that do not tend to meet 100% of need for anyone, but have some great merit awards,and for those you want to make sure internationals are eligible. It's important that as an international, you know if a school even gives financial and/or merit money to internationals students. Some flat out say they do not give financial aid to international students and have very little in merit money. THose schools should go off your list. BUt otherwise, you are in the same boat as the US students, except thaleona helmsleyleona helmsleyt the process is more selective for you since financial aid will have a heavier merit weight on it than for US kids. But even with US kids, the same situation holds. You do best in getting funds at the schools where you in the top echelons of their student body.
