Need based aid is based on parents' income and assets.
Most schools do NOT give need-based aid to int'ls.
Your stats aren't likely high enough for the schools that give good need-based aid to int'ls.
Some schools give merit based aid to int'ls. However, that is based on the Math + CR score.
Yours is a 1390. If you have at least a 3.5 GPA, then Alabama would give you a 2/3 tuition scholarship, but you'd have to apply NOW!!!
If you major in eng'g or comp sci, then you'd get full tuition plus 2500 per year in scholarships.
How much will your family pay each year?

Hi, thanks for your response. I'd be looking at courses in engineering(mechanical/electronics) and Physics.
My family can afford to pay afford to pay about $10000 a year maximum, anything lower than that would be great.
Yes, I will apply to U of Alabama also but i was looking at some other higher end colleges like Stanford, chapman, princeton, purdue etc.
My essays will play an important part so if i write really really well I'll have a good chance of getting in there, right?

With the exception of Princeton (which will be a really big long shot given your stats), none of the other schools you listed are need blind to international students. This means that your ability to pay will be a factor in admissions. Your scores and the fact that your parents can only pay 10,000 (even though the schools decide how much your family can afford to pay) is not a good combination for admissions

"I will apply to Alabama"
If so, you better do so soon. Alabama requires that int'ls be ACCEPTED by Dec 1st to get their scholarships. So apply NOW (it's quick and easy), and then submit the scholarship app. Then get your transcripts, test scores, etc sent in ASAP.
I don't think Chapman has engineering.
Purdue doesn't give aid to int'ls. You'd have to pay at least $40k per year.
Princeton and Stanford won't likely accept you. You're from a country that has too many very high stats applicants. And neither school gives merit scholarships. If you were accepted, then your aid would be based on parents' finances, not your stats.
alabama is likely the highest ranked school that might work for you. However, even with a full tuition scholarship plus 2500 per year for an eng'g major, your parents' cost would still be a bit higher than $10k per year.

Chapman is a terrific school in California. However, unless something has dramatically changed since our DD looked there, their sciences are a weaker major there and I don't think think they offer engineering.

Chapman is more known for its B-school and liberal arts.
