No it does not. Rarely does a public univ give need-based aid to int'ls.

from the website.....
There is no need-based financial aid available to international undergraduates, and F-1 visas allow very limited opportunities with the University for students to work. Thus, all foreign undergraduate students must have sufficient funds for their entire period of study.

UIUC is not known for its merit scholarships even for domestic students, much less int'l students.

What is your situation? What are your test scores and GPA (include SAT breakdown)?

How much will your family pay?

What is your major?

Even if you were given a $5k per year dept scholarship, you'd still have about $35k-40k per year to pay.

Standardized tests :
SAT - 1970 (CR-560,Math-760,W-650)
TOEFL - 109
AP Physics C mech -5

With a 1320 Math + CR, it's doubtful that you'd get a decent amount of merit at any top 100 school. Usually you'd need a 1400+ to get decent merit at a top 100 school. Even at Alabama (super generous with merit), a 1320 M+CR only gets a student 3500 per year...not much at all.

You need to look at: LSU, Miss St, UAB, and similar.

On another thread you have a list of top schools that you're applying to. I think you need a new list. Maybe apply to 1-2 of those top schools, but then apply to some 3rd/4th tier schools that might give you large merit.

Right now, your chances of admittance with needed aid at the top schools you're considering is very, very low. You're from India, a country that has a gazillion applicants with perfect/near perfect scores. You indicate that you need a lot of FA. You're not likely going to get accepted to the few schools that give lots of FA to int'ls. That's why you need a better list.

Applications take a lot of time and money. Why waste on a bunch of schools that are highly unlikely?
