Do I get any financial aid?

I'm an international student on a H-4 visa and I've already been accepted to the college I want to attend and I've also applied to fafsa and it has confirmed that it has been processed.

So do I get any financial aid at all, since I'm not a federal student? And if I don't, then why did fafsa say my application has been processed and confirmed?

There is a page there that gives you an "estimate" of your aid. In the end, it all depends on what the school will charge you though. If you are accepted, and the FAFSA peeps are not giving you info on how you were denied, then I would assume yes.

Just to be safe. Print out what you can from the FAFSA and bring it to the schools financial aid dept. and ask them directly. You can also call the FAFSA peeps and ask their input too.

How were you able to fill out FAFSA without a social security number?

If you're not a citizen or permenent resident, I don't think you can get federal aid. Maybe some schools will have non-residents fill out FAFSA to determine institutional aid or maybe state aid in Dream Act states???

Aren't there screen questions on the FAFSA that specifically ask if you are a citizen or permanent residint? Do check and make sure you did not inadvertantly answer any of those questions incorrectly.

Does your university use the FAFSA to determine its own institutional aid or aid from your state if residence that you qualify for? It is my understanding that an H-4 visa is not a status that is eligible for federal aid. Read through the "fine print" on the visa categories that qualify. If you can convert your status to one that does qualify, speak with your immigration lawyer to arrange it.
