There are two calculators on their website, one for freshmen and one for transfers. Neither status applies to you.

    Tuition is about $30,000.

With Pell, state grant (?), and junior loan you would have about $16,500.

    Are you working this summer?

Are there scholarships for current students?

So just because I'm a third year student I should get $7500 no matter what?

Yes. Third year college students...juniors...get $7500 in Direct Loans.

How did you pay the balance of your costs last year?? You know...the $15,000 the financial aid did NOT cover. Where did that money come from for 2016-2017?

What was that $15,000 in aid?

I'm going to guess that $6500 was a Stanford Loan, and $5000 or just a tad less was a Pell Grant. That's $11,500. What else did you receive in 2016-2017? What was the remaining $3500 of your aid last year??

Was it a PHEAA grant? What amount?

What is the cost of attendance for students living off campus?

In any event...with this EFC, as a junior...you will get $7500 in Direct Loans, and about $5000 in Pell grant money. That's $12,500.

If you put down on your FAFSA that there will be 2 of you in college, then your EFC takes in to consideration that both you and your brother are in college.

Since Robert Morris does not meet 100% demonstrated need, it does not mean that you will get more money

And that $12,500 would be applied for both semester right? It's about $29,910 for off campus students per year

Are you asking me? The $7500 Direct Loan...and the $5000 Pell grant would be for the full year. Each semester, you would receive half of that amount.

And gain I ask...HOW DID YOU PAY THE $15,000 that was not covered by your financial, aid award for the 2016-2017 school year.

AND...what aid did you receive in addition to the Direct Loan and Pell for the 2016-2017 school year.

It would be VERY helpful to those of us trying to help you...if you could answer these questions.

    What is "in person grant"?
  • kenadeekkenadeek Registered User Posts: 80 Junior Member
My parents paid the other half with their savings
I revived the a subsidized loan too but wasn't that much about $2,000
  • mommdcmommdc Registered User Posts: 8,637 Senior Member
No. Pell is $6000 per year max. Your EFC is about $1000 so your Pell is about $5000 a year. You can also take out $7500 in student loan as a junior per year. I still don't know if you are a PA resident.

If you are you can get about $4000 in PHEAA grant.

But tuition alone is almost $30,000.

You will need money for rent, food, utilities as well.

what is your overall GPA? not just your most recent gpa

In march you had a 3.01 gpa. then you said this term you had a 3.58, what is your cumulative GPA?

Your TOTAL Loan last year as a second year student would have been $6500 and that includes the subsidized and unsubsidized portions. You would have gotten a Pell Grant of less than $5000. That's $11,500.

WHAT WAS THE REST OF YOUR AID AWARD FOR 016-2017? What was it? What was the remaining $3500 in aid for 2016-2017?

  • kenadeekkenadeek Registered User Posts: 80 Junior Member
I got an extra $4,000 bc my parents were denied for parent Plus loan
