If the summer was part of the 2016-17 school year, it is over and the eligibility for Pell will be put back in your 'account'. If the summer term is part of the 2017-18 school term, the rest of your pell is available for the rest of that school term.

No refund if you don't go to school for the full school year.

Not even if I went for spring and summer

If you went in the spring...you should have gotten your Pell award for the spring term....whatever you were entitled to.

If you went in the summer,,.you should have gotten what you were entitled to.

How much was your total 2016-2017 Pell...and what did you receive already? Also were you attending full time...because if NOT, your Pell would be prorated based on your attendance.

If your full Pell was $5900, and you didn't go full time for the year...you would not be entitled to that full amount.

Is 2 summer courses considered full time? I would guess not.

Did you go full time spring semester?
  • Will100Will100 Registered User Posts: 16 New Member

  • Will100Will100 Registered User Posts: 16 New Member

  • twoinanddonetwoinanddone Registered User Posts: 12,882 Senior Member
You need to know if the summer was part of the past school year for financial aid or part of the next year. That way you'll know if you have one semester of Pell left or two.

If summer is part of the 2017-2018 school year....then the Pell for your spring term would only have been half the amount....because you only went half the 2016-2017 academic year.

If the summer is part of 2016-2017, you need to talk to your financial aid office. You would onkynget a refund IF there was money left over after your billable costs were paid.

How much aid did you receive and what were your total costs...per term. Is it possible that the school needed your Pell amount to cover your billable costs?
