My assumption has been that once the Make Corrections option appears, it's ok to change school list. The assumption seems to be valid based on schools getting the fafsa, but I can't guarantee that.

^thanks for the reply. I am just going to wait and see if colleges have received my fafsa so that I can delete them and add new ones.

FAFSA processed my 1st. group schools the day after I submitted. It was easy to find out by logging on fafsa acct again. I deleted them and added 2nd. group and sumitted.

Colleges can see each other in CSS anyway except state U, which they don't care.

I also have a question, should I correct a mistake? even though it's a very, very small one? because I didn't think to round my father's income up 1 dollar, from $21,132.52 to just $21,133.00. I highly doubt it would change my efc, and it might just lag the processing process needlessly. But the tiny mistake is nagging at me and I don't want to colleges to think I'm trying to fraud them or something, even though it's just a dollar.....

(side note: i already made a previous correction to my degree i'm working towards and my mother's income because i inputted wrong. so i don't want to have to make too many corrections.)

That is not worth "correcting". Who says you have to round up, anyway?

Can you even put cents in FAFSA? I thought you could only put dollar amounts.

i stumbled onto a yahoo answers page and began to get paranoid.
Fafsa Rounding off to whole dollars? - Yahoo! Answers

you can't put cents in fafsa, that's why i thought you had to round up to nearest dollar.

phew, Thanks guys!

Here's another 2012 bump - what helpful information!

Hello.
I have read through the comments on this thread and haven't seen an answer to my question, which is:
I have already graduated from a technical college and I am now filling my FAFSA out for an University. While I am filling the FAFSA out it shows my technical college in the SCHOOL SELECTION with "remove" beside and of course I now have my new college listed. Do I need to "remove" my old technical college before submitting my FAFSA for the new college I am applying for?
Thanks

Lisa, do you want this FAFSA submitted to the technical college? If not, remove it from the list. If you do submit it to the technical college, nothing will ever happen with it as you will not be a student there.

Usually you submit the FAFSA to schools you are considering attending so that they can craft a financial aid package should you get accepted.

Bumping this for all beginning to look at the 2013 FAFSA. I started my first ever FAFSA and the 10 school limit made me nervous.

Bumping this also. My D has more than 10. I'm keeping this as a reference.

This information is invaluable for folks applying to a lot of colleges. To the poster asking about the dollar amount - you are supposed to round (up if it is .50 or more). However, i would not lose one moment's sleep over a $1 error. They really don't care - the line is not that tight.
