Have you heard from National Merit? I was wondering whether anyone had heard anything about the national merit or national achievement program for 2009, some friends from my school got a letter that said that had got commended. Did anyone else get anything?

I received a letter about two weeks ago from National Merit, it doesn't say what I'll be yet (commended or semifinalist), of course. I didn't get anything from National Achievement, though, and neither did any of my friends who qualify for that.

197 and 95th percentile is a great score that you should be proud of - congrats! Unfortunately the cut-off this year for commendation is 200 though

Ok, so people definitely don't know the difference between National Merit and National ACHIEVEMENT. Achievement is only for African-Americans, whereas Merit is for everyone. Just putting that out there.
