Hello everyone....

It's been a while and here I am again... to bring you up to speed, we have been very busy will all of the financial aid mumble jumble and now is time to apply for those ugly alternative loans... As you all know my D will be attending PSU in the fall. I know I have asked this question before, but I don't know how to go back to my threads without spending an hour scrolling through.

I'm looking for Alternative loans in the Pennsylvania area. Any information will be much appreciated. Any link or personal experience will help me through this last process.

For your daughter to get an Alternative loan she most likely needs a co-signer. If that will be you then why not consider a PLUS loan?

I would apply for the Parent's Loans, but I would rather she takes out the loan under her name. I'm trying to see if her father helps out.....

Any suggestions?

Although I have no experience with this company, princeton review did endorse this lender. Supposedly they have creative private student loans.
However, I do believe that if you are under 18, you do need a co signer, don't quote me, but i think that is the case.

We've been searching also for alternative loans...D hasn't been able to get one because SHE doen't have a credit history...And because, even though she is working and will continue to work part time, she doesn't earn enough to have no co-signer. CITI Assist is asking for $18K per year income

If anyone else comes up with a lower student income for a no-co-signer loan,please let us know.

Everywhere we look, it keeps coming up the same Credit History or co-signer.
