Discover Student Stafford Loan

Zero Origination Fees
Zero guarantor Fees
Zero prepayment Fees
6.8% fixed
No prepayment penalty

Anyone know any reason not to use Discover for student Stafford Loan? We have not done this before. Thanks.

I have not used them but they have been recommended by a couple of people. (The 6.8% is the rate for an unsub Stafford whoever the provider.)

we are using them for the subsidized loan.

I chose them for the zero upfront fees. other loans with upfront fees and discounts upon repayment may work out to be less paid overall if you take the full 10 years to repay.

personally, I'd rather have the cash now and let my son's loan payment be a dollar or 2 more later.

They were great to deal with on the phone for any questions. You probably need to give your school their lender number of 831312 and the name of the guarantor Great Lakes whose number is 755

It took just a few days to have the loan stuff ready to pay out on 8/21/2008

No I don't work for them, just a customer

Thank you. I called the school and they also said they have not heard of any problems with Discover loans. I think we will go with them.
