what schools require parent 2's information if parent 1 has sole custody?

and how do I know? if i don't report whatever it is he makes (nothing, but i don't see any of it anyway... he rarely pays child support), how do i know if this will affect me?

The CSS Profile has a noncustodial parent form,
so any school requiring the CSS will get information on parent 2.

...I think? someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I believe that is correct, as far as CSS goes. FAFSA only requires custodial parent info. However, some schools have their own FA forms, so be certain to check their FA web sites to be sure you are not missing something specific to one or more schools.
