Illinois

Have people in Illinois received notification yet?
I was told that the min. ACT score was 34, which I found to be very high, especially since there are many states that require scores in the low-to-mid-twenties.
I had a 32 on my ACT, but was my class valedictorian, so I had been hoping for this scholarship. I'm guessing that I was not selected, as I have not received any form of notification and, assuming that the 34 ACT score is correct, did not even meet the requirements.
So, I was just wondering if anybody in Illinois has received notification and if he/she would be willing to share his/her ACT score, class rank, etc.
Thanks!

D, in Fl, had a 4.0 u.w. and a 35 ACT. In FL each high school nominates the student w/ the highest unweighted gpa figured with the highest one time sitting ACT, however, each student nominated doesn't necessarily obtain a scholarship.

Minnesota Recipient

D got letter in the mail today that she has been selected. Her Stats are as follows
34 ACT ranked 6/640 with 4.2 unweighted gpa. Looks like Minnesota selects by congressional district. This was a very big surprise as I did not know she was our schools 1 nominee. $1500/per year for 4 years will sure come in handy.

Minnesota awarded today

My son just received a letter telling him that he has been awarded a Byrd Scholarship.

In MN students are ranked, within each congressional district, by ACT/SAT scores (35/2300 for my son) and an essay about Senator Byrd.

strange...

i recieved the scholarship in louisiana, but the only reason i know is because the winners were published in the local newspaper. a close friend of mine got it as well, and she got her letter of affirmation sometime last week, while i still haven't gotten mine, and we live in the same city, a ten minute drive from each other. is there someone i should contact, or just wait a few more days...?

a little confused how gym mom lists her daughters unweighted GPA as 4.2. still no word in washington state, although that's sort of to be expected; the application was only due less than three weeks ago.

arinakly, I wouldn't wait if I were in your position. There may be paperwork to accept the scholarship, and it may have a deadline (this is the case in our state). You can find contact information (both email and phone) in this PDF from the Louisiana Department of Education.

our high school does not weight grades however you can receive an A+ in a class (4.3) so it is possible to have a GPA greater than 4.0

Getting real close to releasing the recipient information in Alabama. I received an email today stating that the letters will be mailed as soon as Dr. Morton signs the official documents. Hopefully, that will be as early as next week.
