For all of the "hopefuls" in Texas, I just got my mail (Austin, TX) and received the letter telling my S that he is a recipient of the Byrd Scholarship. So check your mailboxes and I hope you also find good news there!

I live in Austin and I got my recipient letter today! It will be coming in the next few days to the Texans outside of Austin.

Congrats emississippi! We are still hopeful that we'll see a letter in the mail today/tomorrow...
Samster - MS does NOT notify unsuccessful applicants. No letter by the end of today/tomorrow - probably no award. You can confirm once winners are announced on the Dept of Ed web site (last year it was posted on 7/31).
