I e-mailed Sarah Smith on the 24th of July and her reply was that it has not been mailed out yet but should be soon. Our tuition is due Aug 12th. Maybe we mail in copy of bill with paper work and that is why they wait. Hopefully it comes this week.

gymmom2007, I know in OH they told us not to expect the money in time to make the fall payment. I think they get around this problem by sending the check to the student at home for them to figure out how to deal with. Hopefully it's better in Minn.

For VA, the re-certification form for the Byrd scholarship was sent out a couple of weeks ago. The form needs to be sent to the university/college and they have to fill it out then send it back to DOE in VA. VA will then send a check to the university. Last year, the check did not get to the university until after tuition was due so it was deposited into our son's checking account by the university since his account was paid in full.
