2010 youngARTS program!

Are there any hopefuls out there? I just received confirmation via email that they have received my submission! Anyone who is applying or already has applied? If so, what is your discipline?

I wanted to do the writing portfolio sooo badly, but I never got around to it. What are you doing?

Yeah, GL. I still have time to finish something for Scholastic, thankfully. It's so hard to get a Presidential Scholarship in the Arts, but if you do manage it's an incredible accomplishment!

Yes, I know. "Rehearsing The Dream" was on HBO about two weeks ago and my eyes were glued to the tv screen. I don't know how I would react if I got called to be a finalist in Miami. And what is weird is that not many people choose writing for the program, especially within the last two years. I looked at the finalists and a huge bulk of them were music/instrumental.

Yeah, but the writers who do submite are in general incredibly talented. It's a lot of work to produce, I guess, although 20 pages isn't all THAT much.

Yeah but it's double spaced. I sent in about 14 pages.

I think if you can send them a legitimate reason as to why you missed the deadline, you should be ok.

DS submitted Fine Arts and Cinematic Arts...has anyone met anyone that was a finalist? It sounds like a wonderful opportunity. Good luck to all.
