Comprehensive Grant Resource?

I think we've all seen the ads for the books on grants and how to apply for them, but is there a good resource, preferably free, online? I know that there is money out there and am willing to write the essays and apply, but I haven't exactly found a one-stop-shop that allows me to search for grants, review criteria and application deadlines, etc. I was hoping someone, somewhere, had made a comprehensive database and guidelines to help navigate it all. Am I really going to have to spend hours online and at the library researching all of this?

No, you don't have to go to library

I have had some success with http://getscholarshiponline.info/. Give it a try.

Thanks martin, but that's really not what I'm looking for. The link you provided matches me with primarily online universities that offer aid. I already know what school I'm going to and now I'm trying to find grants and scholarships externally.
