^^Actually, Marist does not have "automatic" scholarships. They are made at the discretion of the scholarship committee.

Bumping for a poster who asked about this thread...

I hope more people add to this thread because it's good for several reasons.

1) for those who have high EFCs that are unaffordable

2) for those who might have the money for undergrad, but would rather save it for med/law/business school, etc.

3) for those who can only afford their local state school, but would like to go out of state (OOS).

Surely there are more schools to add to this list....

BTW....be sure to note which is the last testing date is accepted. Some schools don't take testing scores from tests later than October or November. And, some/many do not use superscores for merit scholarships.

When applying to any of these schools, be sure to note what the latest test dates are acceptable for scholarship consideration. Some schools stipulate that the last tests for consideration are in October or Nov of senior year.

That's not exactly true. You don't get "full tuition." The above scholarship is for the "non-resident" portion or tuition ($7,938). You still have to pay the regular portion of tuition which is $5,106 per year.

So, the scholarship gives you the in-state rate. Not bad, but might be shocking for someone thinking that tuition would be free.

The University of Mississippi ? Office of Financial Aid
Entering freshmen who are nonresidents of Mississippi and have a 32 or higher ACT* (1410 or higher SAT**) or have National Merit/Achievement Finalist status and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a full nonresident award, currently valued at $7,938 per year.

I think I need to clarify:

An out-of-state student will qualify for the Academic Excellence Scholarship with a minimum 3.0 four-year high-school GPA, minimum 26 ACT* (1170 SAT**). Then will qualify for the Academic Excellence Non-Resident Tuition award if they have a 32 or higher ACT* (1410 or higher SAT**) or have National Merit/Achievement Finalist status and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a full nonresident award, currently valued at $7,938 per year. Net effect is a full tuition scholarship. (Lesser awards are available for students that meet other criteria).

Recipients are required to maintain full-time enrollment as well as the academic standards associated with each award.

Regents' Gold Scholarship
Baylor provides a full tuition academic scholarship for up to eight semesters of undergraduate study to National Merit Finalists who select Baylor as their first choice college. Further, the Regents' Gold Scholarship is augmented by the recipients' SAT* or ACT score.
