Dance Portion

I know this might sound like a silly question. But I'm more of a singer and actress than a dancer. So I was wondering what type of shoes would I need to bring for the dance part of the audition?

I've auditioned twice, in two different dance environments, and I would say bring whatever you have, and use the same philosophy you would use for clothes in winter: you can always take things off, but you can't make things appear if you don't have them. The dance studio they used this year was VERY nice, and worked well with most jazz shoes. However, if you are in a dance space where your shoes are slippery the instructor will usually allow you to use "foot-thongs" or dance barefoot if it's safe.

Hope this helps!

Hello!
What Jinx said is exactly right :-)
I recommend ballet shoes or jazz shoes and it is fine to remove them and dance barefoot if you find you are more comfortable. You will not need tap shoes at all.

I've choreographed some of the shows around my area and I always teach barefoot and people say "Are you THAT country?!" Can we dance with some Nikes? I just find they work better for me than jazz shoes.

ohern,
What you wear is totally up to you. It is important that you feel comfortable enough to do your best.
