Question Regarding RESIDENCY

I have heard that sometimes students applying to FSU are not accepted primarily because of their out-of-state residency. Does anyone know if this is the case? If so, what is the specific policy regarding how many out-of-state students can be admitted to FSU Musical Theater program? Do other MT colleges have this policy as well?

Hello,
It is completely untrue that prospective students are denied acceptance to the Music Theatre program because they are not Florida residents. Actually, this year the majority of the students admitted to the MT program are from out of state.

There is no policy, nor is there any "quota" that we must meet regarding the acceptance of in state students. We don't consider residency at all in the admissions decisions for the Music Theatre or Acting programs at FSU.

If you have any more questions I would be happy to answer them for you :-) My number is (850) 644-7234.
