President Barron has raised over a hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) in contributions and pledges in the 11 months he was in office in 2010. For this he was awarded $100,000 bonus. Of his $395,000 salary, he already donated $25,000 back to the FSU Foundation, and likely will give part of the bonus back.

He is ready to launch an unprecedented $1 billion dollar campaign. Donations were up 45% this year, in a year that saw philanthropy significantly down nationwide. The board of trustees felt his work was an "unbelievable accomplishment."

FSU will likely have the info on their website soon, and I will link it then. FSU is going places. It takes money and a large endowment to do so. President Barron has the academic background and the fund-raising ability to do it. Jimbo Fisher's successes are not hurting anything either.

I saw this as well. It is an OUTSTANDING performance in this economy. Barron deserves the $100K.

Jimbo Fisher was also signed to a contract extension and received almost a million dollar raise. He now earns more than his counterpart at UF and rightly so.

Fisher is now the highest paid coach in the state of Florida.

Yes, but their jobs are much less secure. And most of the money paid out to Fisher does not come from FSU or the state, it comes from the boosters and private donations, as well as university athletic contracts with IMG, ISP sports, and Nike.

Barron will be paid well. He will get a bonus of $100,000 for every 100 million raised. if he raises $1 billion (his next goal), that is a million for him.

But I agree that priorities are, well, off in this country. The almighty athlete.......

I think it is simple economics. Jimbo Fisher can orchestrate to a certain degree the physical movements of 84,000+ people to the benefit of the university plus influence millions more paying customers via media.

Like or not, that is power; and power is expensive. I am glad to see Barron is rewarded for his fine work in similar fashion.
