Linen program- anyone use?

Saw this in the housing site. www.rhl.org/flu/linens.aspx

You can buy a linen package that has 2 sheet sets, comforter, blanket and pillows for a good price. Anyone use it? If so what are your thoughts. Was not sure if they were good quality or not.

I bought a set for my older daughter, found the quality to be lacking and returned it. I stick with stores so I can feel the fabric in person. Maybe every company is different though.

Wow, I never realized how expensive linens are. I would have thought $200 was outrageous :O I could buy a terabyte hard drive for that XD

A friend also bought the package for her daughter and returned it. She said the towels were of especially poor quality. She was surprised when the package arrived and it was a smaller package than she expected for all that stuff!

Check Bed Bath and Beyond for sales. They have some extremely soft bamboo fiber sheets that come in a set and with the 20% off coupon and their clearance sales this time of the year -you can get a great deal!

Linens and Things also may have some good prices and markdowns.

At this time of year you can find twin XL even at Target and Walmart, and if you don't find it in the store, check online. For Walmart, Target and many other big box stores, you can order online and pickup at the local store. Right now our Linens and Things has lots of dorm sheets and comfortors sold separately in mix and match colors/prints etc with twin XL. And that stuff does go on sale eventually. Sometimes buying one set now and one on sale/markdown later works.

Last weekend, JC Penneys (Wellington Green Mall) had the XL twin sheet sets on sale for $14.99.

I bought all my linens yesterday at various stores. I had a bunch of the 20% off coupons for LNT and BBB, so I really didn't spend that much money. I know my sister spent like $750 on stuff for her dorm, but I can't imagine having to spend more than $400 or so total. She did go out of state though, so she didn't really bring anything with her out there.
