| Why UF is better than Florida State
As a Florida high school senior during this difficult time of applications and personal statements, you may saying to yourself, "Which of these two fine in-state institutions do I want to attend?" The answer is clear: The University of Florida.
1) Our majors matter.
Besides making Gatorade, UF is known for its engineering programs, its state-of-the-art McKnight Brain Institute, and having one of the best med schools in the southeast. FSU on the other hand, is known for it's theater school. That's right, Hamlet and all that.
2) Our football team doesn't suck.
FSU had storied days in the 90s, but you were all seven at the time and didn't care. Now, when it matters, Florida State is known for losing at home, and Coach Bobby is a bit past his glorious days. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the Seminoles drink Powerade, which is vastly inferior.
UF is where it's at. With Tim Tebow and a squad of highly talented players, #1 Florida is championship material, which means you might just get to have the experience of helping burn a couch in the streets of Gainesville while celebrating our fourth National Championship.
3) The Gator Nation is everywhere.
Those obnoxious commercials during halftime on ESPN speak the truth: The Gator Nation IS everywhere. Graduating from a fine institution like UF means that you will be a proud Gator Alum. Most major U.S. cities have a Gator Club to tailgate together, so you'll never feel alone no matter where you move, even if it's Tallahassee.
