Mid. Eastern female, can I still apply?

Hey guys so I'm going to be a senior next school year and the Gates Millennium Scholarship is something I'm really looking into but I'm not any of the races that they list, I'm a middle eastern female from Egypt to be specific. My family income is below 50,000/yr.

Here's some extra info about me:
4.33W, 3.9UW GPA (as of junior yr.)
1680 SAT score (first try looooong time ago without studying :/ )

EC's & community service
Journalism (3 years)
Editor-in-chief of h.s. paper next year
dance (on & off thing due to financial troubles)
National Honor Society
Best Buddies
Volunteer @ hospital & library (hated library, but won't tell colleges that lol)

Well technically, the scholarship is for minorities, and technically Middle Eastern counts as Caucasian (something that never quite made sense to me). Still, if you really want to give it a shot, especially with an income that low, I suggest calling them.

Edit: I just checked the website and looked under the FAQs, and they count the far east under Asian, so you should be good

Thank you! I am not able to open the link but I'll look it up too. I'm also going to ask my counselor. I'm also part Lebanese so if what you're saying is the case, I hope that helps me!

Hi. Do you usually classify yourself as White or Asian, such as on your birth certificate, school docs, etc.? If you classify yourself as white, then no. But if you classify yourself as Asian, then yes.

Usually, I classify myself as white. I can change that classification though for these circumstances. I am actually half Lebanese and half Egyptian. Lebanon is closer to Asia but still considered the Mid. East. I always list Egyptian because I was born there. Would that make a difference?
