I'm also applying as a transfer; I already got into American University with honors, so now I'm patiently (sort of!) waiting for GWU to reply. My college GPA was 3.94 (with 36 credits) and my HS GPA was 3.96, both unweighted. My major extracurricular is full-time employment for about 6 months (I'm not currently attending college).

I also applied to Georgetown but I'm not as confident of getting in. Overall, the most important thing for me is financial aid, as all of these schools are great anyway.

^ I've been in touch with the admissions office for a few reasons, and they threw around a vague "mid-May". I'm hoping to have notice before my deposit deadlines at other schools, but it's looking a little doubtful...

Thejosher - Try emailing your other schools and asking for an extension on when you have to let them know if you'll be attending. My backup school told me it really wasn't a big deal if I told them a few weeks late, so maybe you'll get lucky too!

The waiting is really the hardest part of this whole process...one of the schools I applied to told me the day after I submitted my app.

Decisions aren't rolling, so hopefully they will all be sent out at once. Also, do you guys think they will put their decision online first? Mine currently still says "Under Review" but I'm hoping maybe they'll change it after they send out the letters. They probably won't though...I'm just very impatient haha.

I e-mailed GWU today regarding decisions and this is what they said:

Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, we have not released decision for transfer application, and you will not be able to find out your decision until it is released. Generally transfer decisions are released in early or mid-May. We thank you for your understanding.

I doubt we'll hear anything this week or next week. Last year's thread said similar things initially, then GWU kept pushing the date back all the way to the end of May.

Hey all,

I'm waiting to hear back from GWU and Georgetown as well. I heard early to mid-May for transfers who applied in January/February. I think it's all based on when you applied, but I assume they will tell everyone sometime this month.

I haven't heard of them requesting spring transcripts yet...I'm sure we'll be required to send them in a little while though for credit evaluation and what not. Personally, I won't have access to my spring transcript until May 17th. Has anyone heard any news, by the way? On the facebook page they said mid-late May and into June...

The person I spoke to in the admissions office today said that decisions wouldn't be out until the "end of the month." Yikes!
