Hey, im thinking about applying to Georgetown (My father and brother both graduated from there)
Caucasian Male
SAT: CR: 710 M:740 W:660 (GU doesn't consider Writing)
GPA: 98.7 (100 scale) Top 10-5% of class
Haven't taken SAT II's yet, but will take Math II, US History, and Physics
Schedule Freshmen-Junior Year has included mostly honors with 2 AP's: Calc BC and US History
Senior year: AP Eng, AP French, Adv Calc, AP Physics, AP Euro

EC's: (Most for all 4 years)
-Co-editor-in-chief of school paper
-Student producer for musical
-Member of Wind Symphony and Symphonic Orchestra (Percussion)
-Tennis team
-Have participated in Habitat builds

-Key Club
-Sound crew chief for 2 years

Honors:

Assuming I write solid essays and get good recs from teachers/counselors, how are my chances?

I think that your chances are well above-average, but 90% is a bit outrageous, even for a legacy.

while I'd say you're competitive for admission, I wouldn't be quite as confident as the posters above me. Your stats are fine. Your EC's however, are what gives the slightest bit of pause. They're good, certainly, but at the same time they're not anything especially out of the ordinary, nor do they demonstrate leadership beyond your own school. Like I said though, you're still competitive.

What school are you applying to?

I might agree with DCForME. Definitely keep pushing. Make sure to keep on trying to "prove" yourself. Never give up. Which of the schools are you applying to? Showing that you have a strong history of trying to advance yourself in the path of a future career is always a good thing... How active are you in Key Club? Community Activism is one of the most important parts of GU (other than academics). I think on my application my strong valuse of service were helpful (especially for the SFS)... Good luck!
