@Ajene333
I'm in the exact same position you are, the longest drawn-out process you can think of. And the thicker envelope was terrible...I thought I was in until I read the letter! That was about 10 seconds of amazing excitement making way for complete shock and confusion.
I don't even know what to think about chances off the waitlist...last year they took nobody, but in the years before, they took 10-12%. Since they obviously "overbooked" their class last year, maybe they were hesitant to accept as many people this year...we can only hope.
Waitlisted to Georgetown College here in NJ!
I was deferred EA and now waitlisted, which is upsetting since this has been my top choice since November. The person accepted from my school didn't apply EA and is definitely not going, which is sad because we have comparable stats and I would have taken that spot in a heartbeat. Oh well, crossing my fingers for May now.
Also, does anyone have insight on the Georgetown ID/Application ID Number question? I have a Georgetown Identification Number from the admissions process, but it doesn't match with either of the numbers from the waitlist letter. Hmmm...
@mircus1896 I'm waitlisted too, and i don't know whether to be happy that there is still a very small chance of getting in or to be sad. Georgetown SFS was my reach and i really believed that i was not going to be able to get in. As for your question regarding the ID numbers, we were given our Georgetown ID number after we submitted Part I of our application i think. I put my application ID number as the number on our waiting list response email (it's the one with the slash in the middle). I hope that's right. What school did you apply to? And i still havent gotten any mail yet, just the email
@yummigummi
I didn't get any email from Georgetown, just a letter. Ok, thank you for the information about application ID. I applied to Georgetown College, I wanted to study science. If I get in, I'm almost 100% certain I'll go. What about you?
@micrus1896
No problem. I applied to SFS and wanted to focus on regional and comparative studies. Georgetown was my number one school and i'll also definitely attend if i get in. I'm really hoping that a lot of admitted students will enroll in other schools! haha
I'm putting a deposit for USC, which was my second choice. I got into Tulane and American University with scholarships but didn't get into Duke or UVA. What about you? Congrats on your acceptance btw, are you going to GU for sure?
I'm extremely upset that I was waitlisted--Georgetown was supposed to be my match school and my admissions counselor said I was a VERY strong applicant and that she almost accepted me EA...
The only school I got into was the BC Honors program early action (only applied to 3 schools) so that's where I'm putting in my deposit.
@micrus1896 That's true! I'm grateful that I still have a chance, though it's hard because I want to have hope that I could still get in, but I also don't want to hype myself up only to get a 3rd (and, this time, final) rejection. I just can't make myself get excited about BC since I never actually thought I would end up there...Georgetown has always been the place I see myself going.
