Accelerated Bachelor/Master Degree at SFS

Has anyone taken advantage of the Accelerated Bachelor/Master Degree Programs at the SFS? A student can apply as a junior to a master's degree program but the program is "highly competitive." This is a very attractive feature of the SFS to our son, but it seems like you can't make a college choice based on it if you have no idea if you will be accepted. Does anyone know the stats of applicants versus acceptances? Do students really finish in five years?

I did the BSFS/Security Studies 5-year program. I actually did have it in the back of my mind when I applied to, and matriculated at, Georgetown. You are right, however, that one cannot make a college choice solely on something like that, which holds no guarantees.

There are no stats because the number of applicants each year is so small that the sample size is not big enough to be representative. It really is a case-by-case basis.

One is not obligated to finish in five years, and I had one classmate who actually finished even faster. But 5 would be the norm, yes.
