Okay, guys. The application goes up in a mere two months. I figured that the sooner we get this started the better. We can use this forum for applying, decisions, admissions, advice, or anything else! Let's just be supportive and get this crazy process started! Who's applying for EA?

Me! I am freaking out! When are they due?

    Uh, November.

I spent around five days on my application, including filling out all the info, sending scores, and writing and editing essays. Don't worry about having three months to write 500 words.

Is the second part of the application available yet? It's not working for me

Part 2 is closed for me as well.

I live in the outskirts of Appalachia, so I haven't had the chance to take my SAT IIs. They are only offered in November. Do you think that will impair my ability to be accepted?

Can anyone tell me the essay prompts for this year and what is actually in Part 1 past the first page where you type in your personal information. Also, can you save Part 1 at anytime and come back?

I honestly think that Part 1 is just the information sheet.

Yeah, Part 1 is just the information sheet

So for Part I, you don't have to pay the application fee? That's for Part II right?
  • 14maxwellm14maxwellm Posts: 53Registered User Junior Member
Pretty sure. Part I just creates an account.

The app fee is in part 1 I believe.
  • lovecheer86lovecheer86 Posts: 18Registered User New Member
For Part 1, you just fill out basic information, name, address, school, no extra curriculars or test scores. It takes about 10 minutes. And yes, you do have to pay the fee.

Is anyone else having issues accessing part II?
  • hoopster14hoopster14 Posts: 32Registered User Junior Member
I have been able to work on Part II without problems, but...
Questions: 1. No indication of approximately many words first essay (short essay) should be - anyone who can advise?
    2. Can essays be written as Micorsoft Word file and pasted onto application?
    3. Please advise concerning "special skills". If I am working on becoming fluent in a language by spending time overseas this summer, is this appropriate to place here?

My activity essay was ~300 words. Creative essay was ~400. SFS ~500. That sounds like something you would list, but I left that part blank.
