| Admit rate and test scores are both factors for selectivity. Like I said, GT has lower admit rate but also lower test scores, so it's no more or less selective (and "coveted"). You insist it's more selective by ignoring its lower test scores.

| Georgetown also has a few very unique programs. There is no other SFS, very few schools offer a international health studies program as developed as Georgetown's, and FLL, the language department, is incredible, especially in Arabic and Chinese. (the other programs are fantastic too, I just happen to know the most about mine ). That combined with a very strong professional focus is very appealing to some and not so appealing to others. The Jesuit tradition is part of that. Georgetown is proud of its roots, but they aren't for everyone. As far as ranking, the endowment is a factor, but when so many graduates go into public service over the private sector that is understandable. There is a good chance I might be hanging out in a burmese village before I get a real job. Georgetown is aware I won't be sending them a big check any time soon.
Georgetown is different then many of its peer schools, I mean where else do get to go trick o' treating at the embassies. |

| hec, would you like to make the same case for nd. I believe more ND students go into service than GT students. I think at ND 10% go into service, 5% go into the military. But yet, gasp, the alumni giving rate is ranked 4th, and, gasp, the endowment, at 2005, was ranked 18th w/ $3.6 billion. |

| Georgetown's endowment is a mere $.746 billion, which is a joke compared to its competitors esp. ND. Probably why it loses cross-admits to ND, not mention ND football is 10000 times > GT football. |

| When you don't have alumni which include three current Heads of State, one past US President, a current Supreme Court Justice, five current US Senators, and two current US governors I would look for affirmation in how much money my college has in the bank, too.
Does Notre Dame put bundles of money under glass cases in all the cafeterias for you guys to look at since it makes you so happy? Do you get a ND money clip when you enroll in your freshman classes? What kind of value system do you people apparently have there anyway? |

| "ND football is 10000 times > GT football."
1. Notre Dame football, although it does have a great history, was by no means a powerhouse last year and probably wont be this year either.
2. Georgetown isn't a football school. ND is. Gtown would smash on the court or the lax field. |

| Milkmagn and corruptbargain,
It's obvious none of you read the paper. You are not alone on this however as it seems like 99% of the people who posted that page from NYT before never read the original paper either! Apparently the NYT person misinterpreted the data and people just blindly followed! By the way, since when what high school seniors think is authoritative? They haven't even gone to colleges and you are using their opinion to show which school is better or worse? I hope when you are in college, you don't use the opinion of high schoolers to prove your point.
At least someone that went to Princeton took the time to read the source and refuted it: UCB vs Northwestern vs Cornell vs UPenn vs Brown

| whats the link about the endowment?
Anyways, I'm not saying ND is a better school b/c of its endowment. They are both awesome schools. I was merely refuting the evidence concerning G-town's endowment woes as posted by hec. Even still, its a great school. |

| Georgetown kicks Notre Dame's ass big time in prestige. Like it is not even worthy of debate. Especially if you are going to wok in the Northeast. I go to Georgetown but I am seriously not being biased. If you are thinking of a more versatile degree then Georgetown wins. |
