| Yeah, I got my first phone call Tuesday morning to confirm my interest in attending and got my second call yesterday just to say I GOT IN!!
Supposedly their first "deadline" of accepting kids was today so I think they'll be making a new wave of calls tomorrow!! She also said they're accepting about 200-300 of the 2000 students on the waitlist.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!! I applied EA, got deferred then waitlisted so it's about time!! |

| My daughter's friend got in too, and we are so happy for him. Georgetown was really his top choice, and he'll be great there. |

| I also spoke with an admissions rep earlier today and was told that they were only accepting students from the College and SFS, I pried to get some definitive numbers and was at first told a "few", and when I kept asking for specifics she said about 40 from each of the two schools. I was also told that were only 900 on the waitlist, and that they offered 2000 people spots, but only 900 accepted. Good luck to everyone. |

| so does this mean that if we do not get a call by tomorrow, we should assume we got denied (or optimistically placed onto the extended wait list)..? |

More Applicants Accepted Off Waitlist More Applicants Accepted Off Waitlist | The Hoya
the numbers in this article seem more consistent w/the 40-40 that tim45 mentioned,
"On Tuesday, Georgetown mailed its first waitlist acceptance letters, admitting 80 people from the waitlist to reach the target of 1,580 first-year students."
I really hope i'll be getting a letter soon!!!!!!!!!!! |

| o so well, since they were mailed out on tuesday, if u live around the surrounding states of DC u should have a letter by now if you are accepted, so if you didnt get a letter that means u are rejected or on the extended waitlist.... I didnt get one and I live in New Jersey... so i'm most likely on the extended or rejection group. =( |

| puffing egos i am not personally attacking any one, but i hate it when people either a.) stay on waitlists or b.)don't pull their applications if they've signed w/another school(athletes) or c.) any way in which people remain an applicant to a school where they have no intention of going. it screws it up for the rest of us! i took myself off the u chicago waitlist b/c i decided i didn't want to go there, it wasn't right for me, and if by some fluke they did call me, i didn't want to delay them calling someone whose dream school was chicago. get over yourselves! make peace with your decision and move on! if you're going to spend your whole life filling up a trophey case just forget it, it's a waste of time, and a perfect way to waste a life. |

| i totally agree. I pulled myself off the WashU, Northwestern, and Amherst wait list because I knew I only wanted to go to Georgetown or one of my accepted schools. |

| if you did not receive a letter yet and you live somewhere in the surrounding states, i don't think it definitively means anything. i was admitted via the phone on thursday, but i haven't received an actual letter yet. |

| lol, why can't i stay on the waitlist? maybe if georgetown decides to offer me 30 000 i might seriously reconsider, though i doubt that's gonna happen. this whole process is unfair anyway and it's not like i'm tricking them by demonstrating actual interest other than saying i'll stay on a list. i won't take up anyone else's spot in the school anyway. |
