Economics and International studies

Is it easier to get admitted for an Economics and international studies Major as compared to an engineering major?

No, ultimately you're admitted to the institute as a whole, not to any specific degree program. The only case that could be made for easier admissions for economics or international affairs is that Tech is working heavily to promote it's Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, so in the interest of promoting diversity in its student body, they would be interested in admitting students in order to expand the program. That being said, I seriously doubt if it will make a difference.
