I'm going into electrical engineering at GA Tech next year, and I'm wondering if it would be more beneficial to learn Java or C++ over the summer.

    You'd probably end up learning both but Java is definitely easier to learn.

    I think Java is used more in courses.

    current EE curriculum, they teach matlab (CS1371) for beginning CS course and C (not C++). They use to teach Java for second CS course but they changed the curriculum. I suggest you learn C/C++
