merit based scholarships

I was wondering if GT gives out merit based scholarships besides the President's Scholarship. I do not think I qualify for any need based aid and would really like to attend GT. However, without aid I will be unable to afford the cost of attendance (i'm out of state). Am I out of luck if I don't get Presidents?

You have to look at their website for other merit awards. I know my son applied and was accepted to GT, but did not get the President's scholarship, and GT was one of the few schools that did not give him a dime of merit award. Whether it was because all there was for OOS was the President's or if he just did not qualify for anything else, I do not know.

Are you an "under-represented" minority? One of my friends is both Cuban and out-of-state. He's not paying anything because he received a "Hispanic only" scholarship. (His SAT score was close to 2300, GPA not 4.0 [actually failed his last semester of English], and ECs similar to "boring Asians.")

GT does have other merit-based scholarships. I didn't get any of the ones that GT by itself offers (i.e. no co-sponsor like National Merit), but that doesn't mean you can't. I believe there's a list at the Financial Aid web site. Check them out and good luck!
