How does GRE retake work with new score reporting options?

I have done better than I thought on the verbal section (V 166 / 97%) but much worse than expected in the quantitative section (Q 160 / 84%) based on practice tests. I was wondering if I could retake to improve my quantitative score and just leave the verbal and essay sections empty? They only report the highest scores of all tests so it shouldn't matter if I get 0 points on those sections, right? (Or for the sake of argument, say I click on a couple of boxes but chances are I will not get a 166 again ...)

Thanks for your advice!

I was going to reply saying that schools will see all the tests you've taken.

But after a quick google search I learned about this newfangled ScoreSelect thing. What?! Anyway, it sounds like you can't pick and choose quantitative and verbal from each test, the test scores have to be sent as a whole. So no, not a great idea.

= Auto reject. (It's a form of academic dishonesty/unfairneess...)
