Took the GRE twice..will it hurt my chances?

I took the GRE twice.
one w/ V:420 M:770
the other one w/ V:680 M:800
Will the one w/ poorer score hurt my chances of getting into grad schools.

I am trying to apply for Master Degree in Biomed Eng at:
Northwestern
UCLA
Washington St. Louis
U Penn
U Mich
Columbia
Johns Hopkins

No, your second score is an incredible improvement (for V, at least), and you will only have better chances.

Congratulations.

The following website might be of interest to you:

And you have just proved how stupid of a test GRE is. Thank you--we need more people to do that.

680 is a REALLY, REALLY good verbal score, especially because you're applying for an engineering master's program. In general, engineering grad. schools don't care as much about verbal GRE scores, but it's great that you got it up so high. Best of luck on your apps!

3x here

I am hoping that it doesn't matter, as I took mine 3x. My quant was around the same, but my verbal went from 560 to 590 to 740. I don't know how much it will hurt, but not as bad as just having stuck with my 560.
