International Schools (American Schools in Europe)

Can anyone give me any information about the American University masters programs offered in Geneva, Beruit, Budapest, Brussels, etc? From what I found there are 11 American colleges abroad:
* www.amcd.ie American College Dublin
* www.acg.edu American College of Greece
* www.aubg.bg American University in Bulgaria
* www.aub.edu.lb American University of Beirut
* www.aup.edu American University in Paris
* www.fc.edu Franklin College in Switzerland
* www.huron.ac.uk Huron University USA in London
* www.johncabot.edu John Cabot University in Rome
* parsons-paris.pair.com Parsons School of Design, Paris
* www.richmond.ac.uk Richmond, The American International University in London
* www.vesalius.edu Vesalius College in Brussels
* www.webster.ch Webster University in Geneva

I am a Spanish Literature major getting ready to study abroad during my junior year. I think I may want to study IR or IB in graduate school. I most definitely aspire to live in Europe after studying in the US and would love to get a job abroad. Any advice??!

John Cabot University in Rome has a good rep. The others don't really.

Why don't you goto a spanish uni for a year abroad? Salamanca, complutence - Madrid are really good and far better than the ones you have listed. It might be a more interesting experioence than goign to an american college in Europe. If you want to do IR, have a look at LSE's year abroad programme.

Any reason why you want to study in an American university rather than a European one? Not criticising, just curious

I know a bit about Richmond. It's in a really lovely area of London which really doesn't feel like a major city at all but more like a small town. This can be a problem though if you want somewhere central - Richmond is not it. It's on the outskirts of London, which means you're talking at least an hour on the Tube to get into the centre (and that's on a very good day).

It doesn't take part in the RAE (Research Assessment Exercise - happens every 7 years, UK universities get ratings from 1 to 5* based on the quality of their research), so I don't know how good its research offerings are. From a quick glance it seems it only offers an MA in Art History anyway, so I don't think it's what you're looking for.

Webster University also has a branch in London, which you may be more interested in. Again, it doesn't participate in the RAE.

Huron is in central London, but is quite small. one or two houses. If I am not mistaken studnets are allowed to use a few of the UoL facilities.

I don't believe John Cabot offers any graduate degrees.

well i am studying at malaga university in malaga, spain starting sept 1st for my full junior year of undergraduate. i know i could study in spain for graduate school after my senior year at hendrix college (my undergrad liberal arts school in AR) but i am interested in european law and such and i guess i picked american universities because their IR programs are in english. i was just curious since i have been to bulgaria a few times (i have a lot of friends there and wouldnt mind eventually living there) and was hoping to eventually get a job in europe. i figured the best way to get placed in europe was to attend a school over there since that is where the connections are...i dont really know a whole lot about any of those schools, i just did a quick search on google. the school in hungary seemed interesting, but i dont know much about it. i would love to use my spanish and english, and pick up a third language (something used in eastern/central europe) and work in an embassy or something along those lines

do i still have a shot at european law programs, IR programs, etc. with a major in Spanish literature and not poly sci or history? I have only taken microecon, i am hoping to take macro econ and maybe one or two poly sci classes my senior year, but for the most part my background will be in Spanish literature (with some strong courses in Latin and the humanities). i would love to study anywhere in europe that seemed challenging and exciting. I am not so sure if I could afford london and I am not sure if obtaining an IR degree in Spain is the best thing for me....I am not even sure if I should continue with a Spanish Literature degree or pursue and IR degree? I guess getting a Spanish Literature degree on the graduate level could hinder me in some aspects, but I am not really well read on IR degrees and what they are good for after school (what kind of jobs I would be offered, how well they pay, where I could live with that kind of degree, etc.)

SLU Madrid, I know they have good IR and IB undergrad, not sure if they have it for graduate. They do have Spanish and English, though.
