chem E--->math/comp sci
what is a 'major gpa'? if say, im a chem E major- is my major GPA based on my grades in JUST my chem E courses?

The department adviser can probably provide you with your official department GPA. It's mostly just your subject courses, but it could include the tangential requirements (like the physics grades of an engineering student).
