    Were you all Regular Decision applicants? Did you receive an email or a notice on the portal, or did you just receive an acceptance packet in the mail?? How about merit scholarship info- was this included in what you received?

    @Mocha99

    We are all regular decision applicants. It is called as Early Write, some colleges choose to send a surprise, early admission decision for some RD applicants. We got the results in regular mail.

    Yes the scholarship was included in the mail, with an invitation to visit the school on March 2 and 3rd for admitted students day. They are also paying for part of the cost of the trip.

    Good Luck to all who are waiting to hear.

    We received a letter last week addressed to "Parents of" from admissions saying they were giving our son's application serious consideration, but that was all. All we received in the mail from Grinnell Admissions yesterday were two copies of that student-written newsletter--one addressed to our kid and one to another kid in our hometown! :-(

    We're on the East Coast, not sure about the others who've posted.

    @Lucie
    We are in the East Coast as well. We also got the newsletter about 10 days ago. Then on Monday got the admission letter. So hang in there, it is on it's way.

    We received our letter this weekend as well as update to the portal. It included acceptance, merit aid, and offer to attend in early March.

    Even if you don't get an early write, please don't assume that it means you (or your child) won't be admitted or that you won't receive merit aid . There were some parents posting in this forum last year who were worried about that, but their children ended up getting into Grinnell with generous aid.

    I got my acceptance today too! I'm estatic! Is anyone else going to the admitted student program in early March?

    I am going to the accepted students weekend, and I live in the east coast and also received merit aid.

    How many do you think get these "early writes"?
  • missouriboymissouriboy Posts: 314Registered User Member
    I'd say 100-200 students with around half getting merit aid offers, but this is just a guess.
