1) Accepted
2) V: 640 M:670 W:640
3) Lit: 750 BioE: 690 (But it doesn't matter, I didn't send them to Grinnell)
4) EC: Good
5) Recs: Excellent
6) I dunno if it's a hook or not, but I was up there for a month for Honors Scholars, so Grinnell Professors gave the admissions office AWESOME recommendations, I know the multicultural recruitment chick by first name, and she mine. I know it definitely had something to do with me getting in.
7) I dunno. I love Grinnell, I know a lot of people up there, but I'm leaning towards Swarthmore right now. Grinnell is a high second though.

1) Accepted
2) 800V, 740M, 800W
3) 800 US History, 800 Chemistry, 770 BiologyE
4) ECs: Good
5) Recs: Likely excellent
6) Low-income, first generation? (more like tip factors)
7) Well, I think it will be difficult. I've already been accepted early by Amherst and Williams, and both have offered better financial aid packages. But I won't rule anything out at this point...

2) 780 Math, 770 Verbal, 660 Writing
3) 770 US Lit, 700 Math IIC
4) ecs: good/excellent
5) I think recs were good
6) Well-rounded, very high GPA, all fives on AP tests
7) It's going to be tough to make a decision between Grinnell and some of the other schools, especially since they gave me the scholarship. I'll know sometime after my visit during April, though.

Grinnell: $36,730 for tuition and room and board.
Wash U: ~$40,000
40k - 36k= 4k
36k - 21 = 15k.
Wash U.'s cheaper for me.

6) Juvenile diabetes, plus 3 books
7) Will probably attend (got small Trustee Honor Scholarship ($2k), but didn't apply for any fin aid), unless I get into Yale, in which case I will think very very hard and have trouble deciding.

| The Numbers are DIfferent According to US News
From US NEWS web site
WASHINGTON U
Tuition and fees: $32,042
Room/board: $10,064
GRINNELL COLLEGE
Tuition and fees: $27,504
Room/board: $7,310
$42,042.00 - 36,000 = 6,042 for Washington U
34,814 - 21,000 = 13,814 for Grinnell
Great job with Washington University -- if you tell Grinnell about the numbers, maybe they will match. It i up to you.

In fairness, I did apply to scholarships for Wash U (a separate application and essays).
Honestly, I think I prefer Wash U anyhow...

Props to all who were accepted.
Anyone know what percentage of waitlisted applicants actually get into Grinnell? Or how many were waitlisted this year?
