My daughter has her Grinnell interview next week. Can anyone share their Grinnell interview experiences?

My son really enjoyed his interview there and his interviewer too. They came out of the interview laughing and chatting and invited us in to ask any questions we had. I always suggested he read a guide book and look at the web site ahead of time to come up with a few questions, so I'm sure he did that. He's told me about college interviews in general that he was often asked to describe his high school experience. Your D should go in with a clear idea of why she and Grinnell are a good fit for each other.

My son did an interview with an alum who lived in our region. He enjoyed it--they had what sounds like a wide-ranging discussion about all sorts of things. He came away very impressed with the interviewer and more interested in Grinnell as a result.

bethievt's advice, as usual, is right on. Grinnell's community is small enough, and they can be selective enough, that they pick students who will "add." Make sure she thinks about what she can bring to the Grinnell community.
