Am I looking at the wrong place or is there no 'Why Grinnell' essay on the Common App supplement part? I just have one 500 characters space (~100 word) question about how I first learned about Grinnell and another one about the mascot suggestion. Why the low requirements? Wasn't there a 'Why Grinnell' essay last year or the year before (I rememver seeing it mentioned somewhere on this board)? And if I want to submit my 'Why Grinnell' essay what should I type/upload it onto?

With a little thought, you can tell them "Why Grinnell" in your answers to the two prompts that were provided.

You can also upload a larger essay than the 500 characters if you want.
I did a 500 character essay for UMaine and it was quite a challenge

I'm not sure I'd recommend sending them something longer than they ask for. You can easily get across what you love about Grinnell in your mascot essay.
