How far is Hamilton from NYC or any other big city ?

Is the hamilton setting rural or suburban ? What do the students do during the weekends ?

Rural, but close to a small city.

Hamilton is about 4 hours from NYC and 4 1/2 to Boston. Syracuse takes about 45 minutes and Rochester around 2 hours 15 minutes. You can take the Amtrak to NYC or Boston from Utica, about 15 minutes from campus.

I think many students stay on campus on the weekends, but I am sure there are times they will take a road trip. Usually girls will head to the mall in Syracuse once a semester or so.

There are a lot of student activities on campus provided by the administration. Hamilton has had some pretty big name bands play there..
Just looking at the feed of events on campus (club meetings, rehearsals, etc), it seems that everyone should have something to do. A lot of people are involved in clubs and sports, so that takes up time. And there's always friends, eh? Hamilton may be rural, but the students are in no way bored.
