My experience at a campus visit

I had never considered Hamilton as a possibility until my mom suggested that I look into it. I agreed to go on a campus tour, but I didn't expect much.

Wow, were my eyes opened. I saw a campus that was comfortable, friendly, and well balanced in terms of a mix of ideologies. I saw a campus with well maintained facilities, accessible staff and professors, and a student body that really opened their arms to incoming students or prospectives. I saw a school where I'd be able to pursue my academic passions without sacrificing a healthy amount of good old-fashioned goofball fun.

I still need to look more into their dance program to decide whether Hamilton is the perfect fit....but all the signs so far seem to be pointing in the right direction.

I got the same impression. It's a terrific school. Minor weakness might be lack of diversity. But the education is top quality and the atmosphere seems great for people attracted to small LACs.

As a current student, I can tell you that Hamilton really is all those things. If you were able to sense that on your visit, I really suggest that you look into applying.

I'm actually a dancer at Hamilton myself; I didn't even know Hamilton had a dance program before I came to campus, but it's been fantastic to start ballet again. It's very easy to pursue a specific academic field (I'm double majoring, neither subject is dance) and I'm still able to dance because it's very low-key and not too intensive. Hamilton does offer a dance major, however, and it can become as intensive as you like. Because of Hamilton's open curriculum, I'm able to fulfill my major requirements, go abroad for a year next year, and audit ballet classes whenever I like.
