only 44 days left until March 31st = decisions emailed!

Is anyone else tired of waiting? I was accepted to my state school 2 months ago; I want to know already!

I didn't sign up for an email decision, I'd just rather wait for in the mail. yikes!

I hate now we have to wait so long.... the decisions will be done by March 20 (that's when the Committee stops meeting), and the Committee spends mere minutes on each application. I wish they could tell the people who were definately accepted or rejected right after the decision was made, instead of having to wait NINETY DAYS!! Ahh!

I was already accepted to Georgetown, so Harvard is the only thing I'm waiting on. I want to know so I can start getting my plans together.

^i totally agree. decisions should be sent out as they are made, not simultaneously.

although, the waiting certainly helps build suspense...

yeah its absolutely killing me. i got in to one good school but still waiting on my dream school. the next 40 days are going to be brutal. any tips to get your mind off it?

I think that if they mailed at all separate times they would cause a lot of anxiety. I mean, imagine not finding out until 3/31 when all your friends got their results months ago. That might be more stressful. That said, I'd be happy to find out all my college results pronto! I'm tired of this game. I guess the best way to deal with it is just to rejoice in the fact that you're done with everything they consider, so no more worrying about tests. You can't let the stress ruin these months. I agree with all of you! Waiting has taken a toll on me. Also, getting your answer in the beginning of April on leaves you a month to decide!!!

I know; I hate leap years! And on top of that, decisions are coming out 3 days later in March, so we have to wait 4 more days than last year's applicants!

But I'm pretty sure I will be rejected/waitlisted anyway, so I don't mind the wait too much. More time with the bliss of ignorance!

Why are you all so obsessed with this? My son is waiting to hear too but he is sanguine about whether or not he'll get in (like everyone else, he thinks he won't). Whatever will be will be... if you don't get in to Harvard there's a good reason and you have to assume it's not the best fit.

I don't actually believe I will get in either and I disagree with your comment. In no way am I obsessed. I'm anxious to find out though, as all of my friends already know where they are going to college. I just want to be able to relax and enjoy the rest of my senior year knowing what I'm going to do next year.

Has anyone seen that awful Mel Gibson / Elijah Wood / Jamie Lee Curtis movie called <i>Forever Young</i>?
In the film, Gibson's character asks to be put in an experimental "hibernation" tank while he awaits the awakening of his true love from a coma. Essentially, he's asked to please not be disturbed until her being is restored.
As much as I hated that movie, the idea of such a tank is quite appealing at the moment. I want to hibernate for fifteen days.

And I feel like such a spoiled little git saying that ... next week, I'm going to France. But even so, I just can't consciously wait any longer!!!

Anyone else in the same humor?

Edit: Ah, and to reply to "get a life, guys" and similar remarks - yes! I am obsessed! I've wanted to go to Harvard since I could comprehend the notion of a college! I grew up wearing Harvard apparel and was born hating Yale on principle! And since my father died when I was fourteen, I have an even greater reason for wanting to go there: because I never knew him well (he had AIDS and was in and out of the hospital so much, I rarely saw him, and when he was home, he was always too tired to talk), going to his old school may provide insights of his youth and what he was like! I *have* to go there.

That film was great would have brought about a paradigm shift - if such a thing hadn't existed previously. Funny how time seems to be dragging given that one only has less than an hour remaining...

PS - To the "why are you wasting your time" memes;

Though you sit there reminiscing of the failings of age, you seem not to have realised that for some, this means quite a lot and that not everyone is as calm and collected as your son. Telling people to get a life is quite rude. We aren't the ones searching threads on admission, and living vicariously through adolescents.
