^I have a similar question. Visiting is nearly out of the question (distance/cost).

I'm not going. It'd be 500 dollars to fly over there, and since I'm already 100% certain I'm going to attend, there's really no reason to spend the money. Sounds like I'm going to miss out, though. I can't wait for September!

What other schools have you guys gotten into? I think that should play a role. I'm from outside of Cambridge and the setting is really pretty...campus buildings are gorgeous and everything has that New England feel. The virtual tours etc should also help too

I'm excited for the pre-frosh weekend! I haven't mailed out that little card that came with the acceptance letter yet though, lol. I'm going to mail it tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide between MIT and Harvard, and though I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick MIT, I don't want to finalize anything until I at least visit both places.

For the people worried about missing out by not going to prefrosh weekend, I promise you'll still have an amazing Harvard experience. It's a fun way to be introduced to Harvard, but completely not essential--I know plenty of people who didn't go last year.

mz innocentz and aznprincess525, if you can't come visit Harvard, do as much research as possible. Think about even things like the weather here, how far it is from your home, etc. I know people who never came here before freshman year and are perfectly happy now...I really think anyone can be happy at any school if they find a niche and seek out the opportunities they want. Are you able to look at the other schools you're considering? All that being said, Harvard is an amazing school; I'm so happy here and I'm glad I chose Harvard.

That's great! Are you coming for prefrosh? Where else are you deciding between?
